Learn to Teach an Introductory Meditation Course

August 9, 10 and August 16 17 – two weekends

Arrival time 8:30am Saturday 9th August for registration. Training starts at 9am sharp each day. Plan on arriving at least 15 minutes early.
We have 90 minutes for lunch break, which includes kiirtan and meditation.
We finish at 5pm each day.

The Plan

To expand our membership we are teaching maximum margiis how to introduce others to Ananda Marga practices and philosophy
We will create a number of teams of two and train them how to set up and teach a class.
In the near future we will introduce a 4 week Intermediate Course and an 8 week Advanced Course. This way our students can progress in a systematic way to becoming full fledged Ananda Marga practitioners.

What You Will Learn

How to teach people to meditate using the Baba Nam Kevalam mantra
How to teach the basic asanas and kaoshikii
How to teach an eight week course, matching the 8 chapters of the class text book, Close Your Eyes & Open Your Mind
How to address frequently asked questions
How to organize and promote your class
How to speak confidently to a small group
How to use multimedia and support materials
You will have a teaching partner, so if you do are not confident about your readiness to teach a class, you could still do the training and start out as a teachers assistant as a path to becoming a full fledged instructor.

Pre-requisites

2 lessons in Ananda Marga sadhana
You must be practicing sadhana twice a day regularly
You must be practicing asanas once a day regularly
You must be attending dharmacakra regularly
You must have the recommendation of your local Bhukti Pradhana, Unit Secretary or Acarya.

Certificate

Upon completion of the four day training you will receive a certificate of completion, issued by The Path of Bliss. When you have taught your first full course, this will be upgraded to an instructors certificate.
In future we will offer more advanced training.

Cost

Training for 4 days: $200
Materials: $65
Total: $265 per person (not including meals or accommodation)
Full time college students discounted price: $165
Scholarships: We have a small number of scholarships available. Scholarship recipients get the same price as full time college students.
LFTs and WTs. No charge for instruction, but they need to pay $65 for materials.

Important. You must register 7 days before the course starts. Then you will have time to read the preparation material that you will receive upon registration.

Also Important: If you already have the materials, you do not need to pay the $65, so choose the option, ‘without materials’
